Pine Ridge Elementary is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Construction Ready Grant—the first of its kind in the district. This exciting opportunity provides the materials and resources needed to launch a hands-on construction program designed to introduce students to real-world skills and career pathways in the construction industry.
Through this innovative program, students will engage in authentic, project-based learning experiences that build problem-solving skills, teamwork, and an early understanding of workforce opportunities. This initiative aligns with Pine Ridge Elementary’s commitment to preparing students for success both in and beyond the classroom.
The program will be led by Andy Ashcraft, a 3rd grade teacher at Pine Ridge, who will serve as the program facilitator.
“I am incredibly excited to bring this opportunity to our students,” said Mr. Ashcraft. “This program allows them to learn by doing—building confidence, creativity, and real-life skills that can spark interests in future careers. It’s going to be amazing to watch our students create, collaborate, and see what they’re capable of.”
Pine Ridge Elementary looks forward to the positive impact this program will have on students as they begin exploring hands-on learning and future career possibilities at an early age.
